Corene Breedt-Rammutla

CEO and Co-Founder, Circle Senior Living, South Africa

Corene is the Co-Founder of CIRCLE SENIOR LIVING (Pty) Ltd – a boutique senior living brand with residences being developed in sought-after urban locations in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

She is also Co-Founder of SILVERAgE, an aged care consulting business launched in 2018.

With her degree in Occupational Therapy, and qualifications and vast experience in Project Management, over the past twenty years Corene has developed her career in the health and care industry managing large projects.

One of her career highlights was in Libya when – employed by Healthshare International UK – she was given the responsibility of privatising a public hospital.  This enormous endeavour was a first for the country.  Corene controlled the full project budget and oversaw the operations, including marketing, international recruitment, and operational management of the transition.

In 2013 her career turned towards care of the aged when she was employed as Chief Operations Officer (COO) of the Chevrah Kadisha Group – a faith-based Jewish welfare organisation – caring for almost 1000, primarily aged, on-site residents and approximately 1500 families in the community.  The full scope of her responsibilities included care, healthcare, catering, maintenance, security, transport, overseeing building projects, centralised procurement, and housekeeping. She also managed a staff of several hundred and was involved in implementing over 200 capital and efficiency improvement projects throughout the Group during her time there.

Once Corene had experienced the rewarding challenges of improving life for seniors, she was inspired with a vision to dedicate her efforts in that direction.

With that objective in mind SILVERAgE was born and then CIRCLE SENIOR LIVING where she is involved in every aspect of the business from investments and product development to construction and sales.

She has not looked back and is filled with excitement for the endless, exciting opportunities that are possible in the field of aged care.

Corene says her passion for the Senior Living community is deeply personal.  “Not only do I feel that my life’s work has led me to this point,” she says, “I also believe that in a world where so many sectors of society are serviced,

it is time for the Senior Living sector to receive the attention it deserves”.  There is no doubt that her considerable experience in managing complex care operations will add value to this space.

Corene is married to Dr Ratshidi Rammutla, a specialist neurosurgeon.  They have a daughter, Olivia-Grace and run a private family charitable trust, Ramson Cross.

Corene is passionate about people and believes that by doing the right thing in the right way she will be contributing toward changing the world to make it a better place.
