Marius is currently the Managing Director and Co-Founder of SoHo Properties. SoHo Properties is a property development and real estate investment company.
He has been in the property industry since 1992 and was CEO of Pareto Ltd which is an unlisted retail focussed property fund. Marius has held various high-profile roles at JSE-listed companies. These have included being the CEO of Texton Property Fund and the MD of iFour Properties. Other appointments have included executive directorship roles at Resilient REIT, Pangbourne Properties, Diversified Property Fund and Monyetla Properties. All these companies are either currently listed or at some stage were listed on the JSE.
He currently serves on the Boards of Safari Investments (JSE Listed) and Oryx Properties (Namibian Listed) as an Independent Non-Executive Director where he serves on the Audit & Risk as well as the Investment Committees of both companies.
Marius currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology at the University of Pretoria.
Marius previously served on the boards of various property sector bodies such as the South African Council of Shopping Centres (President – 2 terms), the South African Property Owners Association, the Green Building Council of South Africa and the South African Institute of Black Property Practitioners.
He holds B.Sc. (Q.S.) and M.B.A. degrees, and is a Chartered Director with the Institute of Directors in South Africa and is also a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (U.K.).
